Services Offered

Chirovet specialises in a comprehensive range of holistic veterinary services tailored to the unique needs of each animal. The practice combines traditional veterinary knowledge with complementary therapies to promote overall well-being. Key services include:

Veterinary Acupuncture

Utilising fine, sterile needles inserted into specific points on the body, acupuncture aims to stimulate healing and alleviate various health issues in animals.

Herbal Therapies

Incorporating traditional Chinese herbal medicine, these treatments address a variety of ailments by restoring balance within the body.

Food Therapy

Customised dietary plans are developed to support health and manage specific conditions, emphasising the role of nutrition in healing.

Veterinary Chiropractic Care

Gentle adjustments restore movement to the spine and joints, easing muscle strain and stiffness.

Tui-Na, or medical massage

A needle-free Chinese medical massage that works on acupuncture points, ideal for pets who find needles stressful.

Medicinal mushrooms, essential oils and Homeopathy

Medicinal mushrooms support immunity, skin and digestion, with essential oils and homeopathy added where they suit your pet.

What to expect at your first visit

The initial consultation is the most thorough appointment I offer. Together, we will review your animal’s full medical history, diet, exercise routine, and home environment. I always examine the whole animal, rather than just focusing on the area that is sore.

Before any treatment begins, we will discuss:

  • My assessment of what is happening
  • All available treatment options
  • Clear, upfront cost estimates

Treatment begins during this very first appointment, and you will remain with your animal the entire time.

Follow-up frequency depends entirely on how your animal responds. While some benefit from two weekly sessions initially, others only need to visit every few weeks. The ultimate goal is always to space appointments out as your animal improves and time them for the maximum benefit without backwards steps.

Appointments and opening hours

Appointments are always  booked in advance.

Additional Information for Visitors

For appointments, please contact Tamara at 07730011673. Inquiries can also be directed via email to chirovetkentltd@gmail.com.

Chirovet’s commitment to holistic care ensures that each animal receives individual treatment, addressing not just symptoms but the root causes of health issues. By integrating various therapeutic modalities, we aim to enhance the quality of life for your pets and provide peace of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly are you?

Oaklands, Sandy Lane, Great Chart, Ashford, Kent, TN26 1JN. It is a few minutes outside Ashford, in the countryside rather than in the town.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is plenty of free  parking on site. Please use the space in front of the Shepherds Hut in the yard or close by where there is space.

Do I need a referral from my own vet?

No. You can book directly with us. We will ask your conventional practice for the medical history with your permission- both are a legal requirement. Some insurance companies request a referral form which needs to be organised with your usual practice.

Do you replace my normal vet?

No. Vaccinations, diagnostics, imaging and surgery stay with your existing practice. I work alongside them and I am happy to speak to them directly.

Do you visit at home or at the yard?

Dogs and cats are normally seen at the practice. In some circumstances I will agree to a home visit, but this is an exception. Horses can be brought to the practice or I come to  their yards.

How far do people travel to you?

Most owners come from Ashford and the surrounding villages, but a good number travel from across Kent and the wider South East. We do have some clients traveling 2-3 hrs regularly to see me but most of the clients are within a 1-2 hr range. We do even have some international clients that I see on a regular base.

Does my insurance pay for this?

Yes, most insurances pay for my treatment, however it depends very much on the policy undertaken. Please look in the smallprint or talk to the Insurance company if you are not sure.
