Our Veterinarian Practice
Chirovet is a holistic and integrative veterinary practice at Great Chart, a couple of minutes outside Ashford in Kent. I am a fully qualified vet and I use acupuncture, Chinese and Western herbal medicine, Chiropractic, food therapy and homeopathy to treat dogs and cats and horses, working alongside the care your usual practice already provides. There is parking on site and owners travel to us from across Kent and the wider South East.

Services Offered
Chirovet specialises in a comprehensive range of holistic veterinary services tailored to the unique needs of each animal. The practice combines traditional veterinary knowledge with complementary therapies to promote overall well-being. Key services include:
Veterinary Acupuncture
Utilising fine, sterile needles inserted into specific points on the body, acupuncture aims to stimulate healing and alleviate various health issues in animals.
Herbal Therapies
Incorporating traditional Chinese herbal medicine, these treatments address a variety of ailments by restoring balance within the body.
Food Therapy
Customised dietary plans are developed to support health and manage specific conditions, emphasising the role of nutrition in healing.
Veterinary Chiropractic Care
Gentle adjustments restore movement to the spine and joints, easing muscle strain and stiffness.
Tui-Na, or medical massage
A needle-free Chinese medical massage that works on acupuncture points, ideal for pets who find needles stressful.
Medicinal mushrooms, essential oils and Homeopathy
Medicinal mushrooms support immunity, skin and digestion, with essential oils and homeopathy added where they suit your pet.
What to expect at your first visit
The initial consultation is the most thorough appointment I offer. Together, we will review your animal’s full medical history, diet, exercise routine, and home environment. I always examine the whole animal, rather than just focusing on the area that is sore.
Before any treatment begins, we will discuss:
- My assessment of what is happening
- All available treatment options
- Clear, upfront cost estimates
Treatment begins during this very first appointment, and you will remain with your animal the entire time.
Follow-up frequency depends entirely on how your animal responds. While some benefit from two weekly sessions initially, others only need to visit every few weeks. The ultimate goal is always to space appointments out as your animal improves and time them for the maximum benefit without backwards steps.
Appointments and opening hours
Appointments are always booked in advance.
To book, please ring or email Tamara and we will find a time that suits. Usually we are very flexible being able offer appointments between 7am – 7pm.
Additional Information for Visitors

Chirovet’s commitment to holistic care ensures that each animal receives individual treatment, addressing not just symptoms but the root causes of health issues. By integrating various therapeutic modalities, we aim to enhance the quality of life for your pets and provide peace of mind.
